Xacobe completed his BSc in Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela and his PhD at the University of Barcelona, working on enantioselective catalysis. As a post-doc, he worked on flow chemistry at the group of Miquel A. Pericas (at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia -ICIQ) and, later, on C-H activation at the group of Igor Larrosa (first at QMUL and then at the University of Manchester). He came back to QMUL in 2016 to take a position of Lecturer in Organic Chemistry. His research interests are mainly centred on the organometallic chemistry of transition metals, in particular applied to homogeneous catalysis. He also teaches 1st and 2nd year organic chemistry courses at QMUL.
Jun got an MSc from the University of Copenhagen before joining us in September 2017. He works on the development of new Fe catalysts for reductive transformations of alkenes and alkynes.
Eda is a visiting student from Middle East Technical University at Ankara (Turkey). She is working on the development of catalytic photoreductions of alkenes.
Dersu is a visiting student from Middle East Technical University at Ankara (Turkey). She is working on Au-catalysed hydroacylation of alkynes.
Monika has finished her second year of Chemistry at QMUL. She is working on Au-catalysed hydroacylation of alkynes.
